Harwich – Hook of Holland Ferry
Not content with trying Eurostar and KLM on previous visits, I decided to take the Harwich – Hook of Holland ferry for this trip. This cost £94 for a London – Amsterdam return and included the train fares. This ticket is called a Dutch Flyer and is sold by Stena Line.
The ferry terminals at either end are right next to the train stations at Harwich International and Hook of Holland. There is 1 afternoon and 1 night sailing per day in each direction. The ferry was pretty good, the cabins are not too small and have en-suite bathrooms. I was on the overnight sailing which departs around midnight so I spent most of the journey asleep – saves a night in a hotel.
