The past 3 weeks have been nothing if not trying. I have been spending most of my time taking care of my sister and trying to get her healthy.

I contacted a doctor when she told me her meds had been lost and he filled her meds. I then took her into see him and was referred to a free clinic for my sister. She doesn't have ins and the doc informed her it was going to be expensive so he gave us a referal. He was a great help.

Her tags on her car where stolen and she got a ticket. I took care of that problem.

She did not have a pair of glasses, I thought she wore contacts. We were watching a movie and she moved closer to the TV, I asked what she was doing and she told me. Now she has 2 pairs of glasses on order.

She had 2 teeth break and I found a dentist who could take her in the next AM and place temp crowns on her teeth. The dentist even had a discount for people without ins, who paid up front. It was a hell of a lot cheaper than I thought it would be.

Now, thing are going well. She's starting to feel better, sleep better and I'm gettig her to go with me on errands and walks. I will get her better even if it kills her:).

I read a posting by another hobbyist that had political questions and now I can't find it.

If some one knows this posting, please, let me know. It would be nice to start a political dialouge with some one who gives a shit.

After all the e-mails I have sent, I have, finally, gotten some responses form ladies who will do the adventure type activities I like. Most of the responses have been from local area ladies. I guess living here in Sacramento Valley has something to do with that.

Living near the Sac and American rivers a lot of water activity takes place. We have white water rafting and easy rafting, boating and all that other stuff. I guess it's really an area where you have to do something exciting to have fun.

I've made a date to go ziplinning in Vancouver with one of the ladies so, that will be my 1st adventure date.

I do my adventure outtings fairly regularly but, usually by myself. It will be a great time to share them with a woman, again.

I'd like to know if there are any ladies who would be interested in going to a NASCAR driving school for a day or white water rafting down the American river? Some thing for the summer around Sac or SanFran?

I learned my sister had lost her medications during the move and was afraid to tell me. She had a few days supply in her purse and thought her doctor would not refill her RX so recently after it had been filled.

She had gone, about, 7 dys without her meds had not told me and had just called her doc. Her doc is semi-retired and had not been heard from. So, she starts having med problems and going through withdrawls and never says a thing.

I knew something was wrong and finally demanded if she needed to go to the hospital and her story broke. She has no Medical Insurance and can not get any. She is in the process of SSDI but nothing now.

I know about withdrawls from Rx meds. Not just the pain pills, that's easy. But the Rx meds they use for the other stuff. The stuff you need for survial.

I was seriously injuried and learned that a "new" treatment for pain management was with anti-depressants, since the pain and depression path ways are the same.

Hell, yeah, I said. I do not want to take any thing I do not have to. But, they never told me about the "side affects".

Your body builds up a tolerance to any thing you take. You can feel it if you give up cafine, sugar, any thing. Withdrawls usually last 7-10 dys. Feel like hell but you live.

With these other meds they have to build you up to a maintanence doseage and maintain that level for years. If the meds stop working they switch you around until something works at some level. What they never do is to take you through the withdrawl of the original med so, when you run out of meds you go through with drawls for all the meds you have been taking.

Now these meds have built up in your body over year. You don't know squat about that fact and when you run out or stop taking your meds you can die. Medical fact.

I had the same experience when I decided to stop taking my meds for pain control. I stopped taking them all. The doc told me I had to stop 1/2 pill at a time for every med I took, the withdrawls were horrendous, but I stayed in contact with the doc and got through them. It took months.

My sister doesn't have that option, like many others. That does not matter to me. I told her, "If you need to go to the doctor, the hospital or what ever tell me. I don't want to go through that again".

On the news the dow jones set another record. Company profits are up. Great news for the wealthy. Pay low wages, cut benifits, make money and destroy the working class. New techonology to replace workers.

Well, my sister has been living with me for over a week now and it is a difficult situation.

I wasn't prepared for the extent of my sister's disabilities. I have to admit, I just thought she needed a place to live. I didn't realize how disabled she is.

She has Lupus and epilispy and has a sizure about every 10 mins. She also has high blood pressure and I am afriad to leave her at the present time. She sleeps almost all day and night. Her sizures tire her out and I don't know if she is sleeping or having a sizure.

It does not matter how bad life is ther is always someone else who has it worse.

I hate to hear people say "my vote doesn't count", bulls...t. You need to vote in every election you can. Many political outcomes are decided by "just a matter of votes". If you don't vote and don't know who to vote for whho ever is not in office.

You think this is a waste of your vote? How do you think the person in office forced to change his stance? Votes mean power, power means perstige and prestige means money. Take away a vote it hurts them.

You believe that your elected official is a trusted loyal representive of your beliefs. Why is it You pay for many of his benifits that you can't afford for yourself?

Vote. Let yourself be heard.

I've been watching the news recently. That's quite a feat, since the only thing that changes are the names, dates and places. I believe the same is true over most of the world. So, this is my question:

With all the problems in every "modern" (sorry) industrialized nation regarding imigration and loss of jobs for the working class. Why do the wealthy continue to expect to be paid millions and not go through the same situations (ecconomically) as we do.

Why do the board of directors complain that the job loss is not their responsibility. Why is it not their responsibility that THEIR tecnology is being copied in other countries?

Wheather legal or illegal, workers have been trained by corperations and returned to their home countries with this knowledge. Yet they continue to hire more people and out source their employees jobs and complain they aren't making enough money. I don't understand.

We all know about the problem with Global warming. I agree that humans are responsible for a lot of the problems.

My question is: What about the things that are ocurring on this planet beyond mans's control?

The planet is a living thing. All living things have natural rejection mechanizims. So, whay haven't scientists thought about that? With all the climate changes that have occured in history whay can't we be having one now?

The massive earthquake and Tsunamini that followed were only part of the story. The earth's rotation slowed for .002 macroseconds. All clocks in the world are off. Some one is going to have to make a new calander.

Back from LA moving my sister to my house. it took 7 days just to box her stuff for moving, 2 days to move it and we're still unpacking!

My sister had thought we were going to move all her belongings and as soon as I saw it, I said we're hiring a moving company. Am I ever happy we did.

Whoa, learned today I need to move my sister closer to me so she can have help when she needs it. Good thing my niece is going to UC near my house. Really good thing I just added on 1600 sq ft. I was wondering what the hell am I going to do with such a big house now, I know.

Funny how things work out. The house was orgionally 970 sq ft. the kitchen was so small that 2 people couldn't fit in it. Now, it's 400sq ft. I like to cook so I designed the kitchen for me. To bad the contractor didn't follow my plans. It's still beautiful.

I added onto the house for an investment and tax break. Now, I need it for family. I know it is going to be hard having my sister live with me but, what can I do? A lot actually. The way the building codes are my addition really is an addition. I couldn't expand the old house as I wanted to. It would have had to have been demolished and a new house built and that would have been crazy.

It really is 2 house built together with one kithcen and 1 laundry room, if I put a TV in the kitchen I would never go into the great room. It's that big. When I designed and remodeled the house my main objective was open space. I have owned 2 houses and a condo each a 1000sq ft or less and I knew I wanted space. I built it then wondered what I was going to do with it, it's a good thing I did.

One of the things I like to do when I visit another city or country is to attend an AA meeting. It's really great for me to be able to contact people like me in new places. After I get to know the lady and my visits increase in length will you understand that I need to leave you for a few hours? Is that acceptable?
