Ok whats the difference

Whats the difference between Blogs and forum entries? I have noticed people tend to open up more while "blogging" Whys that? Do people feel more secure when the headings under their name?. I cant work it out.

To blog or not to blog !!

It's only recently I've even looked at a blog never mind considering contibuting to one. I've always thought of netblogs as a bit geeky, What do you say in a blog ? Whats the idea of a blog ? Is it an online diary you allow other people to read or is it just somewhere you hope your voice will be heared (or seen) through the background noise of 8 billion web pages ! Well I've thought and thought about what I can do with a blog and what it should and shouldnt contain and come to the conclusion that they are different things to different people. I'll be back and forward as often as I can with bits and bobs to add and comment on.
