How do I know you're not a cop?

One big warning sign, I would say is if the provider's is very explicit in her ad about services she offers. If she is very forward and keeps offering to do sexual acts for money, be wary. -- Especially if there has been no sense that she's wanted to check out who you are first.

Just like with cops posing as clients, what LE is trying to do is trick/trap you into agreeing to perform a sex act for money. So, if you agree to her proposition for some act and give her money, you're busted.

Here are some tips for contacting a provider.

- Don't make a decision about seeing someone with your dick. Cool down and make it with your mind and your gut. Take time to research and talk to her. Make apt for at least a day ahead if not more.

- Be wary of responding to explicit ads where acts (even acronyms) are in the advertisement.

- When you see an ad of a provider you like, respond respectfully. This would be my template for responding:

I saw your ad in .... You look ....(compliment). I'm (tell a little bit about yourself. Traveling gentlemen, professional, whatever) and am interested in spending some time with you. Could you please send some information about yourself.

- Hopefully she will send you a website about herself that will have reviews on it. If she has no website at all, that would be a red flag for me. However, if she has a website up but no reviews, it's not the end of the world. It just means a bit more digging on your part. Ask if she is on any review boards. If so, join those boards (if you haven't already) and see if she takes part in the discussions. What does she say? Do people respond to her. Ask on the board if anyone knows anything about her.

- Pay attention to what screening information she wants about you. How is she wanting to feel safe that YOU are not a cop. If she's asking no questions in that regard (like what you do for a living), then that would be a red flag.

- One good idea is to sign up with a date check service like datecheck or Preferred 411. Your personal info is checked and you are given a number code. Your info is then disposed of. More importantly, thouogh, the providers that are on there need to go through a pretty extensive check themselves before they can be on the service checking their clients.

- Another good clue is how much they are investing in their business. Are they paying for advertising on sites such as eros.com? Do they have a website? Does it look like they have put some effort into it? How have they worded things on their website? Unless the cops are really into it, chances are they are probably not going to be spending a lot of money to advertise to trap people. If so, I guess we know where our tax dollars are going. Think that's why they like CL so much cause it's free. Don't quote me on this one. Just my opinion.

- Talk with them on the phone. Share a laugh. What does your gut tell you? Do you feel comfortable talking with her? Go with your gut?
