Well after you said that I am reminded of something that happened to me back when I was still managing an establishment in China.It was closing time and bills were all settled except for one particular table that was insisting on a discount and just wont leave. The boss who is a Shanghainese lady, belittled me and told me that we Filipinos are maids therefore YOU ARE A SLAVE TO ME. I did not shouted back at her but here is what I did. I went to their table. Took their bags threw it all out of the restaurant and told them to leave. Of course she was upset but I did not stopped from there. I banned them from going in to all our establishments all over CH. Made her more upset of course. She deserves it.
Well anyways she probably thought that over time people would forget but no not me. She showed up with her Japanese born Shanghainese friends and my waitresses wont let them in. I was just watching from afar until she saw me and started shouting at me and pointing fingers at me. As I was approaching she was calling me names and she said fuck you, so I said YOU WISH!!!!! And better leave now before I start calling the police. Well that proves that I may be wrong for saying that we are way past the slavery era, It was naive of me to say that, but no matter which side of the world I am in I refuse to be treated like one, branded or thought to be one. There is so many things to not like about my fellowmen but we are not slaves. I think there is a job and a place in this world for everyone. As I have said I don't mind serving. There is nothing wrong in doing that but to be treated like a slave. That I simply wont allow. I have too much respect for myself. |
